Nursery School Entry

To apply for a place in the main nursery school please complete an application form and return it to the school office. Your child's name will then be placed on our waiting list for available places, and you will receive a place offer by letter, the term before your child is able to start. 

Our main intake of children is in September, but we may have further places to offer for a January intake as well. The school is able to offer places at other times during the year when we have spaces available.  

The main nursery offers 15 hrs universal entitlement as part time 2 and 1/2 day sessions. Some full time places are available for children with prioritised needs.  These places are allocated on the basis of strict criteria which include educational, social or health needs. Full time places are not offered on the basis of age or how long a child has been attending the nursery (please see Admissions Policy). Times of the session are as follows:

             Full-time                               8.45 am to 2.45 pm

             30 Hour Child Care Places    9.15 am to 3.15 pm*

             (*with an option to purchase an additional 45 mins in the morning to start the session at 8.30am)

             Mon,Tues & Wed AM            8.45 am to 2.45 pm(Mon/Tue) 8:30am-11.30am(Wed)

             Wed Pm, Thurs & Fri            12.15pm-3.15pm (Wed), 8.45am-2.45pm (Thur/Fri)


We admit 32 children over the 15 hour universal places, 8 x 30 hour Child Care Places and 22 full time children. Six members of qualified staff are employed to work with the children and these comprise of 2 qualified teachers, 2 qualified nursery nurses and 2 nursery assistants.

The nursery has a Cluster Class for 10 children with special educational needs, who are allocated their assessment places by a Local Authority Panel according to agreed criteria. The Cluster Class is staffed with 1 qualified teacher, 1 nursery nurse, and 3 special needs assistants.

We are also now able to admit 12 x 2-yr-olds and ‘rising 3s’ per day who are FEET funded or fee paying. Children attending our 3-5s Nursery may attend for additional hours on a fee paying basis.
